Day 17….260 miles
This morning, the team on the ground (West & Jeff), expedition logistics (Tom McGuire) and expedition management (Barbara Edington) along with GM of Arctic Bay Adventures (Mark Lewandoski) all had a meeting regarding the upcoming weather system. We wanted to ensure the guys had all the information necessary to make smart, informed decisions regarding their expedition and safety.
Based on that meeting, and the thorough review of upcoming, planned logistics, the timeline is such that the decision was made to terminate the expedition, at this point. The team will be making plans to store their gear and return back to Texas. They will be planning to return, after more planning, and take what we’ve learned to execute this expedition and be successful.
We are extremely thankful for all of our sponsors, to all of those that have donated to our expedition and to those that have followed our journey. We have met so many wonderful people and, once again, have made friendships that will last forever. That is priceless.
